

The story of World of Light will hopefully stand on its own, too.įor players who don't want to focus on local and online multiplayer, Super Smash Bros. World of Light looks like it will also be tied into the newly announced Spirits systems, where unlocked spirits can serve as permanent power-ups that can be leveled up individually and augmented with other spirits. Playing through it will likely require players experiment with a lot of different fighters, as well as face off against perhaps the entire roster. World of Light looks like it will serve as a sort of introductory system to a ton of Super Smash Bros. Colored "!" blocks and pipes from Super Mario World, treasure chests from The Legend of Zelda, Lapras water traversal from Pokemon, and so much more themed gameplay awaits in the World of Light. The World of Light will initially be enshrouded in fog, but as players progress they'll fight unique custom encounters and overcome puzzle-based obstacles to unlock new areas. Nintendo Direct, players will effectively be playing an RPG. Based off of what was shown in the World of Light trailer shared at the end of today's Super Smash Bros.
